I've never been so alone, And I've, I've never been so alive

It's been pretty busy with me so this ol' blog has suffered. I just got a full time job, which I start on Monday. I'm pretty damn nervous about it. It's been awhile since I've had a job where I deal with customers. The last few I've had I've been behind the scenes for the most part. I like dealing with the public even though people can drive me fucking nuts.

The improv show I go see every week is having auditions again. I've been thinking of trying out. I'm torn though. I don't really have any improv experience. I've done a little but nothing that really counts. I'd like to give it a shot since you never know if it might work out. I'm terrified to try though. I keep flip flopping about it. I'm beginning to feel like a fish out of water. *flop, flop*

Summer's practically over. It's piss pouring rain and a little chilly. I love this type of weather though I do love the summer sun. I only got to the beach once this year and it was back in May. Sometimes I wish I lived in a warmer climate so I could go to the beach year round. Then I think about how much I love having four distinct seasons. I think it makes me appreciate each season more.

Were you born to resist? Or be abused? Is someone getting the best of you?

The Great Big Sea concert on the 13th was great. They put on a great show, as usual. I sat back further from the stage than I would have liked but that's what I get for arriving later than I wanted to.

Before the show started I grabbed a hot dog and a Pepsi. The Get Spotted Drinking a Pepsi people were there and I was spotted with my Pepsi. I won a free Pepsi. I have yet to get my free drink. Winning is not at all like the commercials. Well, the only thing like the commercial is what they say. Doesn't really matter anyway. The winning is all that matters. Har.

Anywhoo, Great Big Sea played for about an hour and a half. They played a bunch of songs that are staples of their live shows like: Run, Run Away, Mari Mac and Lukey. They played one new song, called Captain Kidd, that will be on their next album. It comes out October 11th. It was about a pirate. Arrr! Pirates rock my socks off. They played two encores, which was pretty cool.

I went home happy and slightly more deaf since I forgot my damn earplugs.

We come from the land of the ice and snow, From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.

I'm not feeling so hot this evening. I think I may have gotten food poisoning from my dinner but I'm not quite sure. I've been told that it's really not fun, not that this is mind you. I've felt sick after eating before so it could be the same thing. Either way, I should be fine.

I got my Festival of the Islands button today. I'm going to be seeing Great Big Sea on Saturday night. I haven't seen them since September 2002. This will be my fourth time seeing them. The lineup of the band has changed so it should be interesting to see how different they are now. I love Great Big Sea to bits. They put on such a great show.

I haven't gone to that many concerts this year. I haven't had the money to really go to any. Not too many bands that I like have come to town this year. Even when there were ones I wanted to see, not having the extra money didn't help. Ah well, some years are leaner for concerts than others.

Reality TV

The other night while I was watching TV I realized that I like reality TV. Not all of it mind you, just some of it. Since I moved downtown I've been watching the most amount of TV that I've watched in years. Most of that TV time is taken up by CSI but almost all of the rest I've been watching reality shows. I was a little surprised at first but now I'm more comfortable with it.

There are a lot of bad reality TV shows out there. It's all a matter of opinion though. Instead of being hostile towards it, I just remember it's there for entertainment. I don't have to watch it if I don't like it. It's like anything in life. If you don't like it, don't watch it, read it, etc.

My favourite show out of all of them would be The Amazing Race. You get to see people run around the world and do all sorts of crazy shit. It's great. It's too bad they couldn't have a little more focus on the places that they're in. It's a race though so you can't linger too long.

My next favourite would be Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. It's cool that they build houses for people who need them. It's nice to see a reality show that does something to help people.

I watch other ones off and on. I don't pay as close attention to them as those two. Fear Factor's good for a laugh. I don't know why people want to go on there to eat gross disgusting stuff but whatever floats your boat I suppose. I'll catch The Osbournes, Rockstar: INXS, So You Think You Can Dance? and other ones when I come across them or remember they're on.

I watch reality TV when I'm in the mood to just watch TV. Most other things I watch, I feel as though I think a lot more. It's good to give the old brain a rest every so often.
